Competition is increasing in the internet market in Cameroon, and added to the threat of lower consumer spend due to the global economic downturn, operators need to look at how they can best differentiate. In some cases, particularly for incumbents and market leaders, network capacity and high quality of service is a strong asset for both customer acquisition and retention.
That should be the reason for the regulator ( ART ) decision to make operators publish quarterly reports on their performance.

I have been having problem with my internet connection for more than two month now, seeing the decrease of the performance with a very high latency and specially during the day, now it’s almost impossible to use that connection during the day ! ! !

And all of these problem are with the ISP that claim to be “The Best Internet provider in Central Africa”  ORANGE CAMEROON MULTIMEDIA SERVICES

With a Hotilne that have limited knowledge , most of the time all they will ask you is to reset the Modem or wait the call from their technical service that will never come… and Finally when after fighting you manage to have someone on site , they will blame you because you have an indoor Modem claiming that the notwork coverage has changed and that you need to go to their shop and buy an outdoor antena !

My questions to them was why ? and how come ? did my house moved ? I have been customer for more than a year so now why should i pay for what look to me like weak network design  and lack of planning ??? in orders words this is an operators trying to make money with investing the minimum.

I have seen that in so many country and so many projects (GPRS/EDGE,3G,WIMAX…)  so i have decided to create a web to talk about the internet market in Cameroon.

That will be the place were all customers will find technical information ,we will aslo have a forum and compare the commercial offers of the differents ISP.
